Situation

In early 2020, Indiana-based Simon Property Group was America’s first large retail owner and operator to close its properties system-wide to address the spread of the coronavirus. Roughly two months later, a careful nationwide reopening of its premium shopping centers hinged on easing customer fears about crowded indoor spaces and avoiding lines and confusion especially when guests used Simon mall property services.

Solution

Some 49 to 77 properties across 10 states were included in the first phase of the plan. The constantly changing situation on the ground, and varying restriction from state to state, called for a nimble reopening plan and an agile, single-source printing partner capable of delivering custom wayfinding signage that could be quickly dropped-shipped to every individual location on the fly.
