Setting the Bar High: Faces of Fitness Event Fabrication

Situation

"Think Lollapalooza, but for fitness!"

The Faces of Fitness festival is an annual event that brings together local studios, instructors, and celebrities for a two-day celebration of health and wellness. It’s a great chance to be active and enjoy live music, all while supporting the youth of the Chicago area. With ideas for a brand-new main entrance in mind, the event staff reached out to us at Britten, where we were happy to support such a great cause. To pull it off, our whole team came together to fabricate a wide range of custom elements, all through a single streamlined process. The event staff worked closely with our designers to assure that each element matched the event's vision, with zero compromise.

Solution

To kick off the project and spearhead the imagery for the event, our print team designed and fabricated five double-sided mesh banners to showcase the day's activities. Hoisted above the main entrance, the banners displayed the timeline of events for each of the venue's four stages. With clean and crisp text and graphics, the high-flying banners were legible from a great distance away.

As a collaboration between our print and metalworks teams, three custom teepees were dotted throughout the venue dedicated to the rest and rehabilitation of the event guests. Another metalworks implementation contributed to the several smaller stages throughout the venue with our event truss system, serving as an easy setup, easy teardown route to a durable stage backdrop that could feature any desired graphics.

For an eye-catching selfie spot, our woodworks team created several stackable wooden blocks to support props of a bright pink speaker and logo. The boxes were designed to be light enough to install swiftly and durable enough to withstand the crowd of people ready to sit, stand, and jump on top of them. Featured on the tower of blocks, decals of the Faces of Fitness Logo with a bright pink radio were posted to match the brand's vibrant image. 

Impact

As the setup of the festival was ramping up, our installation team arrived onsite to set up each element on time and without hassle. With each unique element, the event developed a sense of place in line with the Faces of Fitness event aesthetic. The end result was a grand entrance showcasing the plethora of open opportunities throughout the festival, creating opportunities for engagement, brand visibility, and connection with the fitness community. In all, our design, fabrication, and installation capabilities make Britten a one-stop-event-shop to satisfy any vision, no matter the scale nor scope.
