From a BoxPop®/Tropicana collab in NYC to a new tool from BannerSaver™ to help volleyball players jump higher and spike harder. (Say what?). Check out this shortlist of 2020 projects showing off Britten’s creative mojo and extraordinary range of fabrication capabilities.
EVENTPERMITS / TROPICANA
Tropicana and BoxPop® hit the streets of New York this past Wednesday to launch “Sip Your Sunshine” during the rare Manhattan-henge, AKA the ‘Manhattan Solstice’, a phenomenon where the rising sun aligns perfectly with New York’s east-west streets. Check out the video.
ALLY / DOVER INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY
Britten's longtime partners Ally/Dover International Speedway used fan cutouts, step-and-repeat graphics, and more to engage at-home fans at the 2020 Cup Series twin bill. Check out the backstory behind the huge signage project we tackled for the speedway’s 50th anniversary in 2019.
LORDSTOWN MOTORS / BILLBOARD
Anyone who’s driven the Ohio turnpike in the past five years remembers the giant “The Home of the Cruze” banner decorating GM’s Lordstown plant. That Britten-made banner came down on February 6th, replaced by another 61’ X 259’ billboard-sized creation spotlighting new owners, Lordstown Motors Corp., and their new electric truck making facility. Check out the video, and jump to 1:10 to see our install team’s handiwork.
WOLVERINE 'SNOW SHOW' / EXHIBIT
Wolverine transformed its 40’ x 40’ corner of Colorado Convention Center into an inviting space with the feel of rustic ski lodge complete with camping/ski props and an indoor fireplace. For key branding elements, planners contacted Britten—the only company in the industry that can fabricate seamless and backlit billboard-size frames. Britten delivered six SEG frames, 13 large foamboard product/print signs, and a custom decal made to look like a snowy road scene.
LIGHT POLE BANNERS / 2020 SENIORS
Plans for graduation and prom were up in the air, so parents and administrators wanted to surprise all 88 of their 2020 graduates by hanging personalized, custom banners along the city’s main streets. With senior yearbook photos supplied by the school, Britten designed and printed the double-sided, 24” x 48” light pole banners that were displayed in early summer. Students received support form their hometown and were given the banners as a keepsake.
BATTELLE / N95 MASK STERILIZATION UNITS
Joining the nationwide effort to help healthcare workers in need of PPE, BoxPop® partnered with Ohio-based Battelle to tackle the shortage of N95 respirator masks. The team customized and delivered 25 shipping containers in 23 days to critical hotspots throughout America. Each container was specifically modified to house Battelle’s Critical Care Decontamination System™, capable of cleaning 80,000 masks per day.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR PORTABLE SINKS
Handwashing protocols have created surging demand for portable sinks, leaving businesses and organizations scrambling to find suppliers. Britten Woodworks™ designed commercial-grade, handcrafted indoor and outdoor units priced lower than the competition and made in the USA.
REUSABLE ISOLATION GOWNS
Machine washable up to 75 times. American made. Britten’s isolation gowns deliver convenience and comfort for medical professionals. Designed for minimally invasive procedures, these 100% polyester gowns feature a water-resistant coating, elastic cuffs, and more.
FROG'S LEAP WINERY / BOXPOP®
The strict social distancing regulations forced wineries to rethink the entire way they do business. Looking for a way to negate lost seating revenue by creating a safe outdoor space for customers, Frog’s Leap Winery in Rutherford, CA, reached out to the BoxPop® team for help. For their outdoor wine bar, Frog’s Leap chose the BoxPop 20—a 20’ X 8’ mobile shipping container with 160 sq. ft. of customizable serving space.
BLUEWATER / FOAM3D™ SCULPTED WALLS
Lending some Halloween help to Bluewater, experiential marketers who specialize in AV integrated event staging. Britten’s Foam3D team sculpted a massive caldron and 100’ of wall sculpted to look like the ruins of a spooky castle. Fun fact: To create the giant tripod supporting the smoky caldron, the team repurposed supports from a 2019 Coachella teepee tent they found in the warehouse.
FORT WORTH TOURISM / EVENT ACTIVATION
Somewhere it must be written: Every visitor to Texas must ride—or at least pose—on a mechanical bull. Family-friendly Fort Worth came to BoxPop with a more kid-friendly alternative. This unique, 8’ x 20’ custom container houses a life-size Foam3D™ bucking bull and high-def, SEG walls printed to look like the inside of a rodeo ring.
SPECTRA VENUE MANAGEMENT / REBRAND
The 11,000-seat Sears Centre Arena has a new name. And thanks to the new partnership between Spectra and Britten, you can probably almost see it from space. To kick off the rebranding of the venue’s exterior, the team hand painted the huge rooftop logo and hung the giant 436” x 196” OVIO™ frame and banner that now welcomes fans outside.
MURALS IN PEORIA / PRINTS & FRAMING
Did you know Britten is one of handful of American printers/manufacturers that can handle large-scale, seamless outdoor printing? That’s why Illinois nonprofit Big Picture Initiative reached out for help creating eight, giant framed murals now hanging around the city’s historic district. Each of these 15-ounce UV-resistant, seamless vinyl prints—ranging from 5’ x 10’ to 30’ x 10’—is mounted on its own custom made, BannerStretch front-lit frame.

Los Angeles-area volleyball coach and inventor, Chris Keller, combined a little ingenuity with a BannerSaver bracket to create a tool to help his players jump higher and spike harder. SpikeAssist™ eliminates set up and time wasted shagging balls. Delivers realistic hit and follow-through sound. Makes training easier and more effective by helping players focus on approach, jump, and arm-swing technique. Check out the new website here.
